DIY Decorative Planter

DIY planter

Out of all of the recent DIYs I’ve done, this DIY planter has to be hands down one of the easiest in general and the easiest to do at scale.

Quantity: As many as you like!

Cost: $11 for all the supplies but the $1 glass vase was what made it super affordable so you could make 20 and the total cost would only be about ~$1.80 each.

How to Make a DIY Planter

Items you’ll need to make this are:

Step 1: Spray the glass vase with the paint and wait 10 minutes between coats

I ended up doing 2 coats but you could do more if needed. For your paint pen, make sure that whatever kind you get claims to apply to glass.

Step 2: Figure out your design ahead of time that will be easy for you to accomplish

I’m fairly artistic, but I wanted this DIY to be something literally anyone could do without any artistic ability at all. Here are some super easy patterns you can replicate with your craft pen above!

Step 3: Slowly add your pattern and careful not to smudge the ink pen

Luckily, the pen’s ink dries fairly quickly so I didn’t smudge at all.

Step 4: Give as a gift or keep on a shelf or coffee table for yourself

Did you try this? If so, let me know in the comments below or tag me on Instagram @sartorialpetite.

Bonus: Try this with different paint combinations, as Craft Smart makes a variety of pen colors you can test out.
